Access control is quite complex, with the card-formats, card-reader technology, identity management software, and access control controller-cabinets, and database software, that most electrical contractors may not have a means of supplying their customers with an access control system.
Hackett Systems can design a system for you, and provide you with a quote that includes just the hardware and programming of the system. For commercial engineered new-construction, the electrical contractor is often responsible for installing the conduit and cabling, while the security contractor provides and terminates the electrified locks. As the security contractor, we would also be responsible for coordinating with the door hardware provider and electrical contractor to see that the locks fit the door-jambs, and that everything goes together as intended. Hackett Systems also provides AutoCAD drawings of the wiring and layout of the system, UPS stand-by battery calculations, and detail drawings, as commonly required for fire alarm systems.
